The company said the Solar Buggy is the first special edition for Squad Mobility. The manufacturer’s top priority is to bring the two-person Solar City Car 28 mph L6 / LSV and 43 mph L7 to production. A slightly longer, four-person L7 will follow as well as a cargo version, a complete range of accessories like the golf bag rack and more special editions such as the Solar Buggy.

Squad Mobility has developed its distributed microfactory concept in which the “Squad” will be assembled in factories worldwide in local markets close to customers. This way, Squad Mobility said transportation costs and environmental impact can be minimized through efficient flat-pack supply chain logistics while combining the assembly with a local spare parts storage and hub. Additionally, local supply of components will be sought and increased, the manufacturer said.

At the end of February, the UK ran its second Hydrogen Week. Hyundai recently set two new records for its fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) driving range. The first record set was for the longest journey in the UK on a single tank of hydrogen at 406 miles using an ix35 FC. The second was the longest continuous journey in a hydrogen car, covering 6,000 miles over six days around the M25 in London.
