BorgWarner acquires Santroll’s light vehicle eMotor business

BorgWarner Inc. has completed its acquisition of Santroll Automotive Components, a carve-out of Santroll’s eMotor business. The acquisition is expected to strengthen BorgWarner’s vertical integration, scale, and portfolio breadth in light vehicle e-motors while allowing for increased speed to market, the company says.

Based in Tianjin, China, Santroll designs and manufactures hairpin and concentrated-winding technology eMotors for use in light vehicles. Santroll supplies its patented technology to the Chinese OEM market.

Green Li-ion launches recycled lithium-ion battery materials plant

The North American plant will produce battery-grade cathode and anode materials.

Green Li-ion, a lithium-ion battery recycling technology company, launched its first commercial-scale installation to produce sustainable, battery-grade materials, the first of its kind in North America, it said. The plant, located within an existing recycling facility, will produce battery-grade cathode and anode materials from concentrated components of spent batteries using Green Li-ion’s patented multi-cathode-producing "Green-hydrorejuvenation" technology, the company said.
