WeaveGrid joins Detroit DTE smart charge program

WeaveGrid said it is supporting the program alongside others including GM, Ford, and BMW, to add in Tesla driver eligibility.

WeaveGrid announced the launch of its platform in support of DTE Energy’s (DTE) Smart Charge program. DTE Smart Charge leverages vehicle telematics, to help electric vehicle (EV) drivers manage their charging during times of the day that help the energy grid operate more efficiently.

“WeaveGrid is thrilled to launch with DTE, the utility company for America’s automotive capital,” Apoorv Bhargava, CEO of WeaveGrid, said. “Our software platform will help advance EV adoption by seamlessly integrating EVs onto the grid, supporting clean energy utilization and grid reliability while maximizing benefits for EV drivers.”

WeaveGrid said it is supporting the program alongside others including GM, Ford, and BMW, to add in Tesla driver eligibility via the evPulse platform. Eligible EV drivers can enroll in the program through the WeaveGrid user interface and gain access to $50 in sign-up incentives and $50 in end-of-program incentives from the utility.

WeaveGrid already launched the EV Data Sharing program with DTE to provide Toyota, Lexus, Tesla, Kia and Hyundai drivers insights into charging behavior while reducing charging costs. DTE receives data that helps them improve grid planning and operations – supporting the company’s efforts to balance grid loads, reduce driver energy costs and accommodate the flux of EVs plugging in.
