Hofer Powertrain releases ULTeBEAM eAxle

The ULTeBEAM eAxle facilitates ICE-to-electric conversion.

Hofer Powertrain has announced the latest addition to its Ultevate portfolio – the ULTeBEAM electrified axle. The company said the ULTeBEAM enables vehicle manufacturers to seamlessly convert existing internal combustion engine (ICE) powered trucks, vans and other types of light- and medium-weight vehicles into battery-electric vehicles.

The ULTeBEAM’s modular architecture supports both 400V and 800V configurations, offering maximum flexibility for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and pickup truck customers, the company says. This electrified axle solution consists of a transmission and an e-motor connected to an external inverter. Hofer Powertrain says it offers engineering, design, and integration of such solutions, tailoring them to unique customer requirements.
