TE Connectivity highlights new IPT-HD power bolt high-voltage connector

The company says the high-voltage connector offers a new shielding design, providing low-contact resistance and thicker options for conductor cross-sections used in MCU, E-axle, E-motor applications for renewable energy vehicles operating in harsh environments.

TE Connectivity has introduced a new IPT-HD power bolt high-voltage connector for hybrid and electric vehicles.

Complying with ISO & LV standards, the company says the high-voltage connector offers a new shielding design, providing low-contact resistance and thicker options for conductor cross-sections used in MCU, E-axle, E-motor applications for renewable energy vehicles operating in harsh environments. Even after the vibration with one-, two- and three-position, the connector can be used in environments exposed to extreme temperatures (-40 to +125 degrees Celsius) and excessively high engine-level vibrations, the company says.

The IPT-HD power bolt series comes in 50 mm² and 70 mm² conductor cross-sections, with TE adding a 95 mm² option will be available soon. In addition to the traditional integral wiring harness assembly and machining process for mounting holes, the IPT-HD power bolt connector series provides a separate, single wiring harness.

Michelin has announced a $300 million investment into its Canadian operations to accelerate sustainable mobility and improve its environmental footprint. The investment will see the installation of new technologies and equipment in Michelin's three Nova Scotia production facilities to respond to market evolution, including manufacturing tires for the growing electric vehicle (EV) segment; larger rim size tires for passenger and light truck vehicles; and improved fuel efficiency for commercial trucks. In addition, the electrification of key parts of the manufacturing process will reduce carbon emissions at the plants, the company says.
