LEVC celebrates 5,000th TX electric taxi in London

LEVC (London Electric Vehicle Company) has announced it has sold its 5,000th TX taxi in London. Following its launch in 2018, the company says more than a third of licensed black taxis in London today are now the TX.

The TX features a lightweight aluminum body and benefits from LEVC’s eCity range extender powertrain. This technology enables the taxi to travel in full electric mode for up 64 miles, the company says. The TX has a total range of 318 miles and reduces NOx emissions by 99.5%, LEVC says, adding that in the four years since launching, the TX has prevented 109,000 tonnes of CO2 from entering the atmosphere.

To date, more than 2 million passenger trips have been taken in the electric TX taxi in London.
