EVgo, Merchants Fleet join to expand EV charging for fleets

The new partnership gives Merchants Fleet clients the ability to leverage a combination of depot charging solutions, dedicated charging networks and EVgo's public network.

Merchants Fleet has partnered with EVgo, where EVgo will provide a range of solutions including infrastructure planning, hardware, software and infrastructure deployment services to Merchants Fleet clients.

The new partnership gives Merchants Fleet clients the ability to leverage a combination of depot charging solutions, dedicated charging networks and EVgo’s public network of over 800 fast charging and 1,200+ Level 2 locations, the companies say.

EVgo provides a variety of flexible Level 2 and DCFC charging solutions for light-, medium-, and heavy-duty fleets. In early 2021, Merchants launched its innovative Adopt EV program, designed to help guide businesses through the fleet electrification process.

FLO survey: most drivers rely on fast chargers for long trips

Conducted last year, FLO said the survey supports the buildout of its own-and-operate network of fast chargers.

According to a recent survey, FLO found that a majority of EV drivers rely on DC fast chargers for extended trips. The results, gathered from almost 40,000 EV drivers in the U.S. and Canada, provided insight into EV drivers' charging habits and the activities they regularly engage in while charging.
