Autel Energy to power EVs at the Chicago Auto Show’s indoor track

Autel Energy is providing 15 chargers to keep all participating EVs at the Chicago Auto Show's test track charged overnight.

This year’s Chicago Auto Show, taking place Feb. 11-20, features nearly 30 EVs. The “Chicago Drives Electric indoor test track” also returns to the auto show floor, covering 100,000 square feet of show floor space.

Autel Energy has a 3,000-square-foot exhibit space adjacent to the track in the South Hall, and is providing 15 chargers to keep all participating EVs on the track charged overnight.

Autel Energy says its MaxiCharger family of products includes AC (Level 2) home and commercial chargers, DC bi-directional vehicle-to-everything (V2X) home charging, DC fast charging (Level 3) and digital energy management offerings, including mobile apps and Autel’s ChargeCloud, the only all-in-one charging cloud solution available today.

EV tire satisfaction gap widens as wear rates increase, J.D. Power finds

The satisfaction gap with original equipment tires between electric vehicles (EVs) and gas-powered vehicles is widening, as EV owners say their tires are wearing faster, according to the recently released J.D. Power 2024 U.S. Original Equipment Tire Customer Satisfaction Study. J.D. Power said the study shows that EV owners have similar expectations of tire wear as owners of gas-powered vehicles do, despite EV tires naturally wearing faster due to greater vehicle weight and higher torque.
